Frequently Asked Questions

How many guests can we have?

Our tipis can seat up to 120 people. An additional 50 evening guests are permitted.

When will we be allowed on site?

The day before your wedding, the grounds will be open all day.* On the day of your wedding you have exclusive access all day and until the gates close at midnight. You will also have the following day available for clean up.

*The exception to this is Weddings that occur on a Saturday during the School term. Access is only available from 5pm the day before the wedding.

What kind of entertainment can we have?

We have great links with both bands and DJs and we are happy to help! However, if you do have your own band or DJ in mind, feel free to book them. It is worth noting that all music must finish by 11:30. The band/DJ will need to provide an insurance certificate and proof that their equipment is PAT tested. Drum kits should be placed on an insulated mat to keep sound to a reasonable level.

Do you have accommodation?

We have good relationships with local hotels, so please get in touch so we may help you.

Accessibility

We have a ramp to the site & access to one disabled toilet which can be made available. Please enquire during the booking stage so we can make sure we can accommodate your guests.

Parking

Parking is available for 50 cars. There are parking options available within a short distance. Please enquire for more information. We encourage car sharing as part of our green program wherever possible.

Who will provide the catering?

We have some fantastic recommended suppliers that are more than capable of meeting your needs. We encourage you to use these caterers as they both know the grounds and how we operate. However we do appreciate it is your day and if you wish to bring external caterers that is more than ok. You are also free to supply your own food if you are taking a more DIY approach.

Can we Supply our own alcohol?

No. We have a fantastic bar with bespoke drinks packages that can be made available for you. We have insisted prices on the bar remain reasonable.

Can we have children at the wedding?

We welcome children at Oakfield Gardens but a nominated adult is required to supervise them at all times.

Are dogs allowed at your venue?

Service dogs are allowed but we are unable to accept any other dogs.

Where can we have our photos taken?

For the bridal party, the majority of our grounds will be fully open to you. Please liaise with our team beforehand so we can show you some of our hidden spots. Guests will be restricted to the Tipi/Arboretum/Courtyard and Tennis Lawn area.

Can guests throw confetti?

Confetti throwing over the wedding couple always makes for a fantastic photograph! Only real flower petals, fresh or dried, are acceptable.

Bio-degradable confetti is not suitable.

Can we have candles?

Candles can add lots of atmosphere but we do request, from a safety aspect, that the flame is encased in a heat resistant container. LED tea lights provide a good alternative. Open flame candles must be extinguished at 7:30pm.

Do you allow alcohol favours?

Yes, however there is a corkage fee of £2 per 25ml per person

What time do we have to finish the party?

In order to conform with our premises license and out of consideration for local residents, all guests are required to have vacated the premises by midnight. We suggest taxis are booked for 11:45pm at the latest. The last dance & the bar will close at 11:30pm.

Can people leave their cars overnight?

Cars may be left on site overnight but we ask they are collected by 11am the following day.

Does Oakfield Gardens do midweek packages?

We are pleased to offer weekday weddings during the school holidays where lower charges apply. We often find for smaller numbers of guests, a midweek wedding can work very well.

To secure your booking we require a non-refundable booking reservation fee and a signed copy of our contract, which includes the terms and conditions.

If we postpone the wedding can we carry the booking reservation fee to a new date?
